Dan joined DSS Wealth Management in May 2023 as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager.

With over three decades of experience in investment management, security analysis, and institutional client advisory, Daniel Lew brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.

Dan’s distinguished career spans various prestigious financial institutions, where he has held senior investment management positions. Prior to joining DSS Wealth, Inc., he served in senior portfolio management and analyst positions at AIG SunAmerica, Strong Capital, John Hsu Capital, Citizens Advisers, and Equitable Capital. He has also worked as an investment consultant for institutional funds at William M. Mercer and RogersCasey. Mr. Lew has also been an entrepreneur and was the first franchisee in Connecticut for the national electronics repair chain uBreakiFix, and he has also served as advisor to two private companies in aerospace and communications software.

As Chief Investment Officer, Mr. Lew will be responsible for overseeing DSS Wealth’s investment strategies, ensuring the optimal allocation of resources, and managing risk to achieve clients’ financial goals. Additionally, as Portfolio Manager, he will leverage his extensive experience to drive the firm’s investment decisions and generate superior returns for clients.

With a deep understanding of financial markets and a proven track record, Mr. Lew has earned the right to use the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance from NYU, Stern Graduate School of Business.

Jim joined DSS Wealth Management in August 2023 as Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Jim Monaghan has over 30 years of experience in the investment industry, holding several leadership positions at leading financial firms. He started his career in the annuity business as an equity trader for pension funds at Mutual of America Life Insurance Company. Navigating his way through the 1987 stock market crash in this position as a newly hired trader, right out of college, was when his passion for the financial markets began.

Jim continued his career as an equity trader at Chase Bank working on their dealer trading floor on Wall Street. Jim’s strong commitment to efficient operations, value added trading, and risk control earned him a leadership role in his next position as the Head of Trading and Operations for AIG’s mutual fund company, SunAmerica Asset Management in New York City. While in this position at AIG, Jim ran as point person on several SEC audits over the years, with successful results. His most recent position at Bloomberg, specializing in compliance and trading platforms, as well as his vast wall street experience, proves him well suited for his new role.

As a proud member of the Market Technicians Association, he holds the designation of Chartered Market Technician (CMT). His technical skills and passion for the financial markets underscore his dedication to understanding market dynamics. Additionally, Jim has been a member of the ICI, Investment Company Institute.
